Trickarus

The whole table groaned when I pushed my luck one card too far and lost my wings — that risk-reward twist makes every round feel tense in the best way. Rules clicked after one playthrough, and the Icarus theme actually fits the mechanic instead of feeling pasted on.

The push-your-luck tension is real here, since every big win edges you closer to crashing. We were all leaning over the table by the final round, and the Icarus theme makes the risk feel perfectly thematic.

Teaching this to my game group took maybe ten minutes and we played four rounds straight. The twist where winning too many tricks sends you crashing like Icarus is genuinely clever, it keeps everyone from running away with the lead. Cards feel sturdy too, survived a very enthusiastic table.
